Bears rookie kicker Eddy Pineiro will head to Soldier Field on Friday to practice in the fall weather, special-teams coordinator Chris Tabor said Thursday.

He’ll do it in good health — Pineiro feels fine, Tabor said, despite being hit after an extra point in the game against the Raiders. Pineiro has been dealing with a pinched nerve in his knee since before the Redskins game but is feeling close to normal.

One good sign: He’s expected to kick off in place of punter Pat O’Donnell, whose duties shifted in Week 3.

“Hoping so,” Tabor said. “We’re working on it, and we’ll see where that’s at.”

Robbie Gould famously practiced at Soldier Field to help master its bizarre wind patterns. Cody Parkey didn’t begin doing it until he struggled in the middle of last season.

No Kamara or Brees

For a second consecutive day, neither running back Alvin Kamara nor quarterback Drew Brees practiced for the Saints.

Brees isn’t expected to play Sunday because of an injured right thumb. Teddy Bridgewater will go for his fifth straight win in as many starts.

The loss of Kamara, who has ankle and knee issues, would be massive. Kamara, who has 373 rushing yards and 276 receiving yards, has made the Pro Bowl the last two seasons.

Saints tight end Jared Cook and wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith didn’t practice, either. Both have ankle injuries.

The Bears only had one player limited in practice — guard Ted Larsen, who has a knee injury. Quarterback Mitch Trubisky (dislocated left shoulder), wide receiver Taylor Gabriel (concussion), defensive lineman Bilal Nichols (broken right hand) and linebacker Joel Iyiegbuniwe (pulled hamstring) all practiced in full.

Don’t try to block that kick!

When the Raiders punted in the fourth quarter on fourth-and-six, the Bears had a return on — the same one that sprung Tarik Cohen for a long return, only going the other way. There was no reason for linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis to run into punter A.J. Cole.

His role was the “forcer,” Tabor said. His job was to rush the punter from an angle so that Cole couldn’t boom the kick out of bounds.

“Usually the risk is extremely low that [contact] is going to happen,” Tabor said. “He’s given me great effort — I never want to take that away from a player — but I just have to do a better job of coaching them in that situation.”

Tabor said the Bears were “100 percent” aware of the possibility of a fake on the next play, which the Raiders converted.

“We can’t put ourselves in that situation,” Tabor said. “The defense did a great job of getting us off the field, and we can’t put them back out there.”
