Bears coach Matt Nagy speaks to the Kenwood Academy varsity football team Tuesday.

The Bears hosted Kenwood Academy’s varsity football team as part of their Varsity Bears program Tuesday. The Hyde Park high schoolers stretched with the Bears, watched practice and took a team photo with them afterward.

“I go back to thinking about when I was coaching high school ball … 11 years ago, 10 years ago, and so I realize that’s some special times there,” Bears coach Matt Nagy said. “As a player, some of my greatest memories, you learn so much, those are your brothers out there. It starts there, your high school coaches.”

Jackson stayed after practice to speak to the players.

“When I was in their shoes we didn’t really have that opportunity to come out and talk to guys or NFL teams,” he said.
