Bears predictions: Week 3 at Redskins

The Sun-Times’ experts offer their picks for the Bears’ “Monday Night Football” game at the Redskins:

RICK MORRISSEY

Bears 17-10

This should be the game the Bears’ offense finds its rhythm, which apparently is as elusive as Bigfoot. After seeing the first two weeks of Mitch Trubisky & Co, I’m not convinced. Coach Matt Nagy needs to call some running plays for his quarterback. Season: 0-2.

RICK TELANDER

Bears 23-19

Trubisky says he’s “still got a long way to go.” But our lives aren’t endless, and someday soon he needs to get to the top. Going against this Washington defense should help. It better. Our patience is way less than endless. Season: 1-1.

PATRICK FINLEY

Bears 20-12

The Redskins are the perfect team for the Bears’ offense to get healthy against. Only the semi-pro Dolphins have allowed more points per game than the their 31.5, and only the Cardinals and Dolphins have given up more yards per game than their 455. Season: 1-1.

MARK POTASH

Bears 23-16

The Bears are struggling on offense with just one touchdown in two games. But they’ve been good at picking on upstreaming defenses and this appears to be an opportunity to do that vs. a Redskins team that has allowed 63 points and 910 yards in two games. Season: 1-1.

JASON LIESER

Bears 23-10

The Bears will finally get some breathing room after two tight games to open the season. The Redskins are bad — not Dolphins-level bad, but still a very beatable opponent even in an always-tough prime-time road game. It’s an especially optimal matchup for Trubisky, because the Redskins are a mess defensively. Season: 1-1
