The Bears signed former Packers starting safety Kentrell Brice to a reserve/futures deal Wednesday.

Brice started 10 games for the Bears’ rivals in 2018, his third year in the league. In 14 starts over 36 games, he has one interception and six passes defensed. The Packers decided not to tender him a contract after 2018, though, and he signed a one-year deal with the Buccaneers. The Bucs waived him on cut day.

The Bears are looking for depth, particularly at strong safety, with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix expected to pursue a richer contract after a one-year stint with the Bears. Eddie Jackson signed a record-breaking contract extension last week but is more ballhawk than run-stuffer.
