Bears safety Eddie Jackson is changing his jersey number.
Starting this season, Jackson will wear No. 4, the same number he donned when he played at Alabama. Jackson, who has worn No. 39 throughout his NFL career, was allowed to switch after the NFL relaxed its jersey-number rules earlier this offseason.
The Bears announced Thursday that new running back Damien Williams will wear No. 8, while wide receiver Marquise Goodwin will wear No. 84 and wide receiver Damiere Byrd No. 10.
Wide receiver Javon Wims changed his number to 15, and cornerback Artie Burns changed his to 25.
The Bears announced two weeks ago that rookie quarterback Justin Fields will wear No. 1. Rookie offensive tackle Teven Jenkins, the team’s second-round pick, will wear No. 76. Rookie running back Khalil Herbert will wear No. 24, cornerback Thomas Graham will wear No. 27, offensive tackle Larry Borom will wear No. 75, wide receiver Dazz Newsome will wear No. 83 and nose tackle Khyiris Tonga will wear No. 95.
