Duncan Keith came in sick Tuesday and won’t play when the Blackhawks face the Minnesota Wild.

That led to the inevitable question about mumps, and Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville didn’t rule out the possibility.

“Not sure about that,” Quenneville said.

“I don’t know what’s wrong. He’s sick.”

The NHL has been hit hard by the spread of mumps this season. The virus has hit around 15 players, including Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby. The Wild have also been hit hard, and Quenneville was asked about how concerned he is about the mumps.

“We’re doing everything we can to prevent it,” Quenneville said. “We’ll see what happens.”
