The Chicago Blackhawks will bring crowds to downtown Chicago for the third time in six years to celebrate a Stanley Cup when the city throws a victory parade Thursday.

A source confirmed to the Sun-Times that Thursday will be parade day, though details on time and itinerary have yet to be hammered out or released.

“We are going to have a parade worthy of a dynasty,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel said during an appearance with Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell at the Chicago Commons Nia Family Center Day Care Center.

“To be able to win three times in six years is a testament . . . it’s a testament to all the players” as well as the entire organization, Emanuel added.
