There will be plenty of fanfare to accompany the Blackhawks’ first two games of the 2015-16 season.

The Hawks will open the season and raise their sixth Stanley Cup banner on Oct. 7, when they welcome the New York Rangers to the United Center. Two days later, the Hawks will be at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn to usher in a new era for the New York Islanders, who will play there after 43 seasons at Nassau Coliseum.

The full schedule will be revealed Thursday morning at 9 a.m. central time.
