Despite Patrick Kane predicament, Blackhawks still favored to win Stanley Cup

Not long after the Blackhawks raised the Stanley Cup in June, Bovada installed them as the NHL’s 7-1 favorite to repeat in 2016.

And why not? With the three-cups-in-six-years core seemingly returning, who wouldn’t make them the front runner.

Then came the Brandon Saad trade. Then Patrick Sharp gets dumped. Then the Patrick Kane investigation hits.

Still, despite the offseason trades and uncertainty surrounding Kane, the Blackhawks are not only favored but their odds have actually shortened to 13-2.

Here are the current odds to win the Stanley Cup from Bovada:
