WARREN, Mich. — Kmart plans to close four more stores in Michigan by late January.

The Detroit Free Press reports the plans by Sears Holdings bring the total number of stores it is closing in Michigan to 12 over a six-month period.

The newspaper reports the four stores are located in Ann Arbor, Bay City, Iron Mountain and Warren. They employ a total of 265 employees. Company spokesman Howard Riefs says the retailer is closing stores while it is working to improve its online sales.
