Here's what's cooking in the old HomeMade Pizza spots

Things are about to heat up for Bake 425.

The take-and-bake pizza restaurant, with a single storefront in Highland Park, is taking over eight locations of HomeMade Pizza Co., which shuttered all its stores in May.

Bake 425 owner Bill Borneman told Crain’s that he’ll open bake-at-home pizza shops in ex-HomeMade locations in Winnetka, Evanston (Central Street) and Lake Forest in October, Glencoe and Evanston (Chicago Avenue) in November, and on Southport Avenue in Lakeview in December.

Borneman told the paper he’s also looking beyond shuttered HomeMade stores with plans to expand in Glenview and Barrington, as well as in other Midwest markets.
