ADM completes deal for WILD Flavors

Archer Daniels Midland Co. said Wednesday it had completed the takeover of WILD Flavors GmbH.

Chicago-based ADM in July reached a $3.13 billion deal to buy the privately held Swiss company WILD Flavors, which supplies natural flavors and other ingredients to food and beverage makers. WILD Flavors has offices and production sites in Heidelberg-Eppelheim, Germany, and in Erlanger, Kentucky. It also has 13 other production sites in Europe, North America, Asia, South America and the Middle East.

The agribusiness giant said it will combine WILD Flavors with some other ADM product lines into a new business unit called WILD Flavors and Specialty Ingredients.

“These high-value products provide the opportunity for increased margins and strong sales aligned with global consumer trends,” ADM Chairman and CEO Patricia Woertz said in a news release.

Greg Morris will be president of the new unit. He most recently was president of North American oilseeds processing.
