Dover sells Datamax O'Neil unit

Dover Corp. has agreed to sell a label-printing unit to Honeywell for $185 million.

Datamax O’Neil, based in Orlando, Florida, sells stationary and portable printers for labels, barcodes and receipts.

“While we do not view this business as core to our long-term vision, [Datamax O’Neil] is a well-run business that is a leader in its markets and offers customers innovative products and a strong focus on service,” said Robert A. Livingston, president and CEO of Downers Grove-based Dover.

Dover is an $8 billion global manufacturer of equipment and components used in the energy, engineered systems, fluids, and refrigeration and food equipment industries.
