Fans might want to get to Wintrust Arena early for the Sky’s WNBA playoff game against the Phoenix Mercury.

Coach and GM James Wade was named WNBA coach of the year and will be honored by the team before the 7 p.m. tipoff.

The fifth-seeded Sky are making their first postseason appearance since 2016 in the single-elimination matchup against the eighth-seeded Mercury.

“We just need to come and play,” Wade said of the Mercury. “They’re a dangerous team, they’ve won the last two years in single elimination where they upset teams, so we just have to be ready for them.”
