WASHINGTON–Mayor Rahm Emanuel heads to the capital to appear Thursday at a Center for American Progress policy conference where former Vice President Al Gore and Secretary of State John Kerry are also on the program.

Emanuel, President Barack Obama’s former chief of staff, also has meetings lined up at the White House and with several cabinet secretaries, City Hall tells me.

The mayor will be on a panel with CAP founder John Podesta–a Chicago native–and a former chief of staff for former President Bill Clinton.
