CHICAGO—White House hopeful Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) is sandwiching in two high-end fund-raisers on Tuesday, before and after the AFL-CIO presidential forum in Chicago at Soldier Field, the home of the Chicago Bears.
Former President Clinton will touch down in Chicago in early September to headline a funder for his wife.
Obama is planning a pre-forum rally in the Soldier Field parking lot; Clintons campaign will be in the parking lot circulating petitions to get her name on the Feb. 5 Illinois primary ballot. It’s raining Tuesday morning and it’s supposed to be damp or rainy all day.
The AFL-CIO forum (without rain 12,000/14,000 expected) ends at 7:30 p.m. and an hour later Clinton is scheduled to be at the Wilmette home of Kevin Conlon. For $2,300 (the maximum individual donation for the primary) the donor gets the honor of being listed as a co-host and a souvenir photo with Clinton. For $1,000, its just dessert.
A pre-forum event has Clinton cutting it close. The event, televised live, starts at 6 p.m. and Clinton is scheduled at a fund-raiser starting at 4 p.m. and the invite has it ending at 5:30 p.m. The funder, at the offices of Barnes & Thornburg, One N. Wacker, is hosted by Richard Boykin, former chief of staff for Rep. Danny K. Davis (D-Ill.) The price tag for this event is $5,000 for political action committees (the max for PACs); $2,300 for co-hosts and $1,000 for individuals.

Clinton dashed from Saturdays YearKos presidential forum in Chicago for a frantic Sunday of fund-raising in the Hamptons. Clinton caught flak from rivals during the YearlyKos presidential forum for taking contributions from political action committees and federal lobbyists.
