After spending the night at his Kenwood home on the South Side of Chicago — and dining with Chicago pals at RPM Steak on Kinzie, President Barack Obama on Thursday heads to the Gold Coast for a fundraiser to benefit Gov. Pat Quinn. After that, Obama helicopters to Evanston for a speech on the economy and the U.S. leadership role in the world at Northwestern University. Obama travels back to the White House after the speech, flying out of Gary/Chicago Airport.
The speech is at the Cahn Auditorium on campus. Quinn will be joining Obama at the Northwestern event.
Via the final Wednesday pool report by Linda Feldmann of the Christian Science Monitor:
Motorcade rolled from RPM Steakhouse on Kinzie St in Chicago at 10:32 p.m. central time. Onlookers crowded the street. Arrived at Obama residence at 10:48 p.m., where we dropped him off (but did not see him). We did see Valerie Jarrett walking down the sidewalk with Secret Service agent. Press vans departed Obama neighborhood at 11:01 p.m. A lid was called at 11 p.m.
