SHARE Gov. Christie in Chicago Oct. 17: Funder for House candidates

The Illinois GOP congressional candidates in the biggest races — Bob Dold, Darlene Senger, Mike Bost, Rodney Davis and Bobby Schilling will be the beneficiaries of an Oct. 17 fundraiser in Chicago headlined by Republican governor nominee Bruce Rauner and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, the chair of the Republican Governors Association and a potential 2016 presidential candidate.

The reception, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Union League Club, 65 W. Jackson, seems intended to raise money for the GOP combined turn-out the vote effort. Illinois Republicans and Democrats have launched vote-by-mail and early vote drives in order to lock in votes as soon as possible.
