WASHINGTON—Former Rep. Bob Dold R-Ill.  is getting a boost from Rep. Paul Ryan R-Wisc. who will headline fundraising events for him April 11 in Chicago.

Dold was beat in 2012 by Rep. Brad Schneider D-Ill. and the two are in a 2014 rematch, with their north suburban 10th congressional district contest expected to be hard fought and expensive. Dold lost the seat after serving one term. Neither Dold nor Schneider have opponents in the Tuesday Illinois primary.

Ryan, the House Budget Committee Chairman and Mitt Romney’s 2012 running mate, will appear at two Dold events: a reception at the Kirkland & Ellis law firm, 300 N. LaSalle and a lunch at the Chicago Cut Steakhouse, in the same building.

A special for donors: “As an incentive, if you send your $2,600 check on or by March 18, 2014, you may bring an additional guest to the luncheon with you.”

Price points:

$500 Reception Only

$1,000 Reception & Photo

$2,600 Reception, Photo and Lunch (Host)

Dold’s finance director is Sara Karlovics.
