Rep. Greg Walden, R-Oregon, the chair of the House GOP political operation — the National Republican Campaign Committee –is traveling around Illinois on Thursday and Friday to fundraise and stump with five GOP House candidates in tight races.

“This is a battleground state for us again this cycle and we will continue to put a focus on ensuring victories in Illinois this November,” NRCC spokesman Katie Prill told me.

The Walden Illinois rundown:

Illinois 10: Former Rep. Bob Dold R-Ill. in a rematch with Rep. Brad Schneider D-Ill. On Thursday, Walden is the guest draw at a funder for Dold hosted by Janet and Gadi Cohen and Shlomoh and Yarona Ben-David at the Cohen Northbrook home.

Illinois 11: State Rep. Darlene Senger R-Naperville challenging Rep. Bill Foster D-Ill. On Friday in Chicago, Walden is doing a presser with the newly minted nominee, who won the spot in the March 18 Illinois primary.

Illinois 12: State Rep. Mike Bost R-Murphysboro running against Rep. Bill Enyart D-Ill. Walden and Rep. John Shimkus R-Ill. among the headliners in a Friday funder.

Illinois 13: Rep. Rodney Davis R-Ill. pitted against Democratic former state court judge Ann Callis. Walden is doing a presser in Springfield on Friday for Davis.

Illinois 17: Former Rep. Bobby Schilling R-Ill in a rematch against Rep. Cheri Bustos D-Ill. Walden is headlining a Friday funder in Colona.
