Chicago Cubs Board member Pete Ricketts narrowly won the GOP nomination for Nebraska governor in the Tuesday primary, billing himself in his campaign as a “real world conservative.” His sister, Laura, also on the Cubs board is a major Democratic donor and activist; brother Todd, on the Cubs board is the CEO of one of the nation’s largest conservative political action committees while brother Tom, the Cubs chief is not politically active.

Pete Ricketts, a graduate of the University of Chicago, is also on the TD Ameritrade Board of Directors, with the company a major source of the family fortune. Ricketts clinched his six-way race with a plurarity win, coming in at 28.48 percent, according to the Nebraska Board of Elections.
