Obama guidance & press schedule May 23, 2014 Waking up in Chicago

WASHINGTON–President Barack Obama wakes up Friday morning at his Kenwood residence, after coming home on Thursday to headline two fundraisers to benefit Senate Democrats and Sen. Dick Durbin D-Ill. Obama is scheduled to depart O’Hare Airport on Air Force One at 10:35 a.m. CT.

Though it was not on the originial official schedule, a White House official said last night after Obama returns to the White House, he will announce the transfer of HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan to be the Director of the Office of Management Budget and the nomination of San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro to replace him. The White House added an update to the sked on Friday morning to reflect the announcements.

Later in the afternoon, the President will sign H.R. 1209, an Act to award a Congressional Gold Medal to the World War II members of the ‘Doolittle Tokyo Raiders’, for outstanding heroism, valor, skill, and service to the United States in conducting the bombings of Tokyo, and H.R. 685, American Fighter Aces Congressional Gold Medal Act in the Oval Office. There will be a stills only pool spray of the signing.
