Mayor Rahm Emanuel has increased his lead over challenger Jesus “Chuy” Garcia, a new poll shows.
In the survey, conducted for the Chicago Tribune, Emanuel was the choice of 58 percent, with Garcia backed by 30 percent and 9 percent undecided.
The poll of 724 registered voters, conducted March 25 through March 29, has a margin of error of 3.7 percentage points.
Emanuel’s margin increased by 7 percentage points from the last Tribune survey. In that previous poll, taken March 6-11, the mayor was preferred by 51 percent, compared to 37 percent for Garcia.
