Chicago Democratic fundraiser, Illinois union boss among invitees to Japan State Dinner

WASHINGTON — A major Chicago Democratic fundraiser and the Wheaton-based president of a big trade union are among the invitees to the Japan State Dinner on Tuesday night at the White House.

The White House released a list of expected attendees to the dinner honoring Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

William Hite, from Wheaton, is the president of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry. He will be accompanied by Christine Dawson, from Carol Stream.

Scott Kluth, a Chicago resident, is the founder of CouponCabin.com. Last year, he hosted a fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee at his John Hancock Center home, where the headliner was Vice President Joe Biden.

Kluth will be escorting Janelle Kristin Miller, also from Chicago.
