With essential medical supplies running low due to the coronavirus outbreak, Project CURE, with the support of Illinois Sens. Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth, announced Friday its plans to host an equipment drive at the United Center this weekend.

The public protection equipment supplies collected at Sunday’s drive will be distributed among local healthcare providers across Illinois.

With essential medical supplies running low due to the coronavirus outbreak, Project CURE, with the support of Illinois Sens. Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth, announced Friday its plan to host an equipment drive at the United Center this weekend.

On Sunday, Project CURE will be collecting a variety of public protection equipment supplies — including sterile and non-sterile gloves, hand sanitizers and goggles — at Lot F on the west side of the United Center, the home of the Blackhawks and Bulls.

The drive will happen from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m., and donations will be distributed among local healthcare providers across Illinois.

Here’s a list of items the drive is hoping to collect:

  • Sterile and Non-Sterile Gloves (unopened boxes, latex-free preferred)
  • Hand Sanitizer (unopened containers)
  • Bleach Bottles or Sprays (unopened containers)
  • Bleach Wipes (unopened containers)
  • Isopropyl Alcohol (unopened bottles)
  • Eye Protection and Goggles (unused in box or wrapper)
  • Clear Face Shields (translucent, unused only)
  • Masks with Tie/Ear Loop (unopened boxes only; no cloth masks will be accepted)
  • Respirator Masks - N95, N99, P100 (unopened boxes; extra filters are also needed for these devices)
  • PAPR Respirators - 3M or MaxAir (unused only; hoods, filters, batteries, chargers, tubes to go with these units are also needed)
  • Disposable Isolation Gowns (unused only)
  • Shoe Covers (unopened boxes)
  • Biohazard Bags (unused only)

As of Thursday, Illinois reported 2,538 confirmed cases and 26 deaths due to coronavirus.
