15-year-old girl shot in vehicle in Archer Heights

A teenage girl was shot Friday afternoon in the Archer Heights neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

She was sitting in a vehicle with a male friend in the 5100 block of South Kolin just before 4 p.m. when shots were fired at the vehicle, according to Chicago Police.

The 15-year-old was shot in the back and showed up at Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition stabilized.

Police said both the girl and her friend are documented gang members.
