A 17-year-old girl was seriously wounded in a shooting Sunday evening in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
She was standing outside about 8:25 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Springfield when she heard gunfire and realized she’d been shot, according to Chicago Police.
She suffered a gunshot wound to the right shoulder and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
