An 18-year-old man from the south suburbs was killed in a Markham shooting last week.

Joseph Harden was shot in the back about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Sherwood and Richmond avenues in Markham, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Harden was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died at 6:43 p.m. Thursday, authorities said. He lived in the 17700 block of Harvard Lane in Country Club Hills.

An autopsy Sunday ruled his death a homicide. Markham police could not immediately be reached for more information.
