Two people were shot and wounded Thursday night on the South Side and what apparently was a stray bullet from the shooting struck a CTA bus in the 600 block of East 71st Street.
It happened around 7:15 p.m., according to the police, who said a man got out of a sport-utility vehicle and started shooting, hitting a 48-year-old woman in the head and a 40-year-old man in the back. Both were taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, police said.
CTA spokeswoman Irene Ferradaz said one person on the bus suffered an injury that appeared to be from broken glass but didn’t require hospital treatment, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
