Business burglaries reported in Hyde Park, Wentworth Gardens, Bronzeville and Ukrainian Village

All four burglaries happened between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Oct. 12, Chicago police said.

Police are warning business owners across the city to be on alert after several commercial burglaries were reported in Hyde Park, Wentworth Gardens, Bronzeville and Ukrainian Village.

In each incident, someone forced their way into a business and stole property from inside, Chicago police said.

The burglaries all happened between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Oct. 12 at businesses in:

  • The 5500 block of South Lake Park Avenue;
  • The 200 block of West Pershing Road;
  • The 200 block of West 33rd Street; and
  • The 2000 block of West Chicago Avenue.

In one case, the suspect was described as a male standing nearly 6-feet tall and weighing between 190 and 210 pounds, police said. He was wearing a multicolor reflective jacket or vest.

In another case, the suspect was driving a dark gray Toyota SUV with the license plate number R84 7839.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to contact Area Central detectives at 312-747-8382.
