A 29-year-old man was shot and killed Friday in Lawndale on the West Side.
He was walking on the sidewalk about 12:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Kenneth Avenue when someone in a blue Dodge pick-up truck fired shots, Chicago police said.
Kenneth Meredith was hit in the head and chest, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Meredith lived blocks away from where he was shot.
Autopsy results released Saturday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
