Man charged with Crystal Lake stabbing

A 23-year-old man is accused of stabbing another man in north suburban Crystal Lake.

David Lepey, of Crystal Lake, was charged Tuesday with a felony count of aggravated battery and a misdemeanor count of domestic battery, Crystal Lake police said.

About 7:25 a.m., authorities responded to the 500 block of Devonshire Lane after receiving calls that a man armed with a knife was acting abnormal, police said. Once on the scene, officers found a 30-year-old man with a single stab wound to the chest.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment, police said. His wound was not thought to be life-threatening.

Lepey was taken into custody at the scene of the stabbing, police said. The incident is believed to have been domestic-related.

Lepey was taken to McHenry County jail where he is awaiting a bond hearing, police said.
