2 shot, 1 killed Tuesday in Chicago

The day’s only fatal shooting claimed the life of a 32-year-old man in Little Village.

Two people were shot Tuesday in Chicago, including a man who was killed in Little Village on the Southwest Side.

Frank Aguilar, 32, was walking about 11:30 p.m. in the 3700 block of West 32nd Street when someone in a gray SUV drove by and opened fire, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Aguilar was shot in the chest and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, authorities said. He lived in West Englewood.

Area Central detectives are investigating.

The day’s other shooting wounded a man on the Lower West Side.

The 27-year-old was on the sidewalk about 1:45 p.m. in the 2300 block of West 24th Street when someone approached him, pulled out a gun and opened fire, police said.

The man was hit in the shoulder and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

No arrests have been reported. Area Central detectives are investigating.

On Monday, seven people were wounded in shootings across Chicago.
