Chicago police are warning residents of two armed robberies that occurred overnight Tuesday and Wednesday in Belmont Gardens on the North Side.

Both victims were approached by a man armed with a semi-automatic handgun. The suspect demanded the victims’ property before running, police said.

The incidents occurred:

  • About 1:25 a.m. Nov. 19, in the 2700 block of North Kostner Avenue; and
  • About 12:49 a.m. Nov. 20 in the 3000 block of North Kostner Avenue.

The suspect was described as between 22 and 25-years-old, 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9, 140 to 180 pounds and wearing a black hat and black jacket.

In one incident, the suspect wore a ski mask, police said.
