A man was fatally shot in the back Wednesday in south suburban Harvey.

Kenshawn Sheriff, 22, was shot about 9 p.m. in the 15800 block of Lexington Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Sheriff, who lived in Highland, Indiana, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and pronounced dead, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy released Friday found he died from a gunshot wound to his back and ruled his death a homicide.

Harvey police have not replied to a request for additional details.
