A 27-year-old man was beaten and robbed Tuesday on a Red Line train in the Loop.

About 2:40 a.m., he was riding a southbound train in the 100 block of North State Street when three men began to beat him near the Lake station and took his iPhone before fleeing, Chicago police said.

The man received minor injuries and refused medical treatment, police said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
