A 21-year-old man was shot and killed inside a vehicle Tuesday in Park Manor on the South Side, according to police.

Irvin Coats was inside a vehicle about 3:55 p.m. in the 7400 block of South Langley Avenue when someone in another vehicle drove up and fired shots, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Coats was struck multiple times in the chest and was pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Hospital, authorities said.

An autopsy released Wednesday ruled Coats’ death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
