A man accused of shooting a man during an argument Tuesday in Englewood on the South Side is facing felony charges.

Marvin Johnson, 18, is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a handgun and aggravated discharge of a firearm, according to Chicago police. 

Johnson allegedly shot a 19-year-old man in the foot about 7:53 p.m. Tuesday in the 6300 block of South Damen Avenue after the pair had an argument, police said.

The man was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said. Johnson was arrested after a brief foot chase, and officers allegedly recovered a weapon. 

His bond was set at $50,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 3, according to court records.

The suspect’s son witnessed the shooting of at least five relatives, according to Joliet police reports obtained through a public records request. The reports also indicate the boy’s mother was more deeply involved in the case than first thought.
