A teenage boy died in a shooting Wednesday morning in northwest Indiana.

The 17-year-old was pronounced dead of a gunshot wound at 6:15 a.m. in the 300 block of East 49th Avenue in Gary, according to the Lake County coroner’s office.

He was identified as Theaudious Griffin, the coroner’s office said.

Gary police, who are investigating the homicide, did not immediately respond to a request for details.

In other fatal shootings in Gary this week, a 32-year-old was fatally shot Monday in the 800 block of County Line Road, authorities said.

On Sunday, 21-year-old Wanya Burnside was shot and killed in the 3500 block of West 47th Avenue.
