Two stores were robbed at gunpoint since last month in Lake View and Albany Park on the North and Northwest sides.

In each case, two male suspects have entered a store, displayed a handgun and taken merchandise and money from cash registers, according to a community alert from Chicago police. One of them wore a mask.

The first robbery happened at 5:51 a.m. Oct. 14 in the 2800 block of West Irving Park Road, police said. The other occurred at 3:35 a.m. Nov. 2 in the 900 block of West Diversey Parkway.

One suspect was described as a man between 40 and 50 years old, standing 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-2 and weighing 160 to 220 pounds, police said. The other was described as a 5-foot-8 to 6-foot male wearing gym shoes and weighing 150 to 180 pounds.
