A 22-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday outside an apartment building in south suburban Crestwood.

Officers were called at 3:08 p.m. Dec. 12 to the 5700 block of 128th Street for reports of shots fired, Crestwood police said. Investigators found a male in the rear parking lot with a gunshot wound to the head.

Jason Edward Ahern, Jr. was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He lived in Romeoville.

Police identified four vehicles of interest in connection to the shooting: A white Mercedes SUV, a dark-colored Dodge Durango with tinted windows, a silver Infiniti and a Nissan Altima. Investigators are asking residents in the area of 128th Street, 129th Street, Carriage Lane, Park Place and Central Avenue to check surveillance video for the vehicles.
