A 21-year-old man was killed when he was shot Tuesday in Humboldt Park on the West Side.
Deondre Williams, 21, was standing on the sidewalk about 3:15 p.m. in the 3300 block of West Chicago Avenue when a dark-colored SUV approached him, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
Someone inside the vehicle opened fire, striking him in the chest, police said.
Williams was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. The vehicle drove off eastbound on Chicago Avenue.
An autopsy found that Williams died of a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.
No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
