A 22-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting Friday in Garfield Park on the West Side.

She was in an alley about 11:50 p.m. in the 300 block of South Central Park Avenue when she heard gunfire and realized she was shot, Chicago police said.

The woman was struck in the buttocks, and she flagged down a vehicle for help, police said. Her condition was stabilized at Mount Sinai Hospital.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
