Police are warning residents about two strong-arm robberies reported since last month in the Back of the Yards on the South Side.

In each case, two people have approached a victim and either demanded their property or taken it by force, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The first hold-up happened at 4:55 a.m. Nov. 30 in the 5300 block of South Hermitage Avenue, police said. Another occurred at 3:11 p.m. Dec. 2 in the 5300 block of South Paulina Street.

In one instance the suspects were described as two males between 16 and 20 years old, standing 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 and weighing 110 to 130 pounds, police said.
