A 48-year-old man died after a drive-by Sunday in Austin on the West Side.

About 3:23 a.m., Jeffery Davis was in a parked vehicle in the 4900 block of West Thomas Street when someone from a black sedan opened fire, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was struck in the torso and arm.

Davis was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
