A 22-year-old man was shot to death Sunday in East Chicago, Indiana.

Alan Lavelle Ross Jr. suffered a gunshot wound at 140th Street and Pulaski Street in East Chicago, according to a statement from the Lake County coroner’s office.

Ross Jr. was pronounced at 4:17 a.m. and his death was ruled a homicide, the coroner’s office said. He lived in Hammond.

East Chicago police did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
