A man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Wednesday in Englewood on the South Side, police said.

The pair were on a front porch about 11:30 a.m. when two males ran up and one of them opened fire, Chicago police said.

Traeshaun Archie, 21, was struck by gunfire and ran to the back porch of the home in the 1800 block of West 57th Street, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. After police showed up, he was pronounced dead at the scene. He lived about a block away.

An autopsy found Archie died of a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

The other man, 24, was grazed in the back of his head, police said. Paramedics took him to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition stabilized.

Witnesses told investigators that two suspects ran away on foot, police said.

Area South detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
