A woman was shot and wounded Thursday as she stood in an alley in Englewood on the South Side.

She was behind a commercial business about 4:45 p.m. in the 700 block of West 66th Place when a maroon vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots, Chicago police said.

The woman was struck in the hip, police said. The 32-year-old was taken to Saint Bernard Hospital, where her condition was stabilized.

Area South detectives are investigating the shooting.
