Two people were wounded and one killed in a shooting Wednesday in Englewood, Chicago police said.

One person was killed and two more wounded Wednesday in a shooting in Englewood on the South Side.

Two men and a woman were standing near the street about 12:01 a.m. in the 6600 block of South Halsted Avenue when a group of men walked up and opened fire, Chicago police said.

Terrence Sewell, 21, was shot once in the back, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died. Sewell lived about six blocks from where he was shot.

The 32-year-old woman was stuck in both legs and taken to Stroger Hospital while the 39-year-old man was hit in the right leg and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said. Both of their conditions were stabilized.

Area South detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
