A teenage boy has been charged with shooting a gun Monday in Edgewater Beach on the North Side.

The 17-year-old was allegedly identified on surveillance video as the person who fired shots about 8:45 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Hollywood Avenue, Chicago police said. No injuries were reported.

The boy, who remains unnamed because he is being charged as a juvenile, was arrested Wednesday morning in the 1100 block of West Ardmore Avenue, about a block from the shooting, police said.

He is charged with a felony count of reckless discharge of a firearm, police said. He is due for a bail hearing at 1100 S. Hamilton Ave. on Thursday.
